The Bull Run Rally – July 6 – July 12 2016
Spain – Great roads, fantastic surfaces, limited traffic and stunning scenery. The perfect setting for a week long, 1700 mile unique car rally ending at the world famous Festival of St Firmin and the ‘Running of the Bulls’ in Pamplona, northern Spain.
There are some 700,000 kms of Spanish roads and much of it in fantastic condition thanks to massive EU funding. The hand-picked route will pass through seven Provinces, across five mountain ranges, and along two coastlines. The emphasis is on fine driving so the best back-roads will be used and motorways avoided. This is a driving rally where for once quality of the roads counts not quantity so there are no silly, boring days spent driving 500 miles along a motorway.
Backing up the excellent driving days, the nights will be spent in beautiful hotels featuring historic Parador castles and residences.
From medieval walled towns to uber contemporary cities; from The Bay of Biscay to the Mediterranean and from mountain passes at over 6000 feet to roads at sea level – the Bull Run really offers the perfect European driving adventure.
Wildside has 25 years experience of organising driving events so you can be assured that the Bull Run will deliver on all levels.
To keep the mystery; the actual route is kept secret. But each morning the route book for that day will be handed out to each car. This route has been pre-driven by the organisers so using the famous ‘tulip’ style of route marking the road-book will be accurately mileage checked, all junctions marked, road numbers noted, directions indicated and petrol stations highlighted. This is old school navigating but GPS is also encouraged.
This is not a race so there is no timing and no target times to achieve. This is the opportunity to enjoy great driving on fabulous scenic, deserted roads and in an ideal climate.
However, to add another level of ‘driving delight’ there is also a session on a private circuit booked exclusively for the Bull Run.
The start is in northern Spain and we can also arrange for return ferry transport from the UK-Spain which will put you just a few kilometres from the actual start point.
Entry is open to anyone driving anything. On previous events we have welcomed Ferraris and Fords, Porsches and even a Proton (ye, honestly). Entry is by team which is 2 people and one vehicle.
Apart from the driving there will naturally be dinners each night, a mid-event party plus of course the final night celebrations in Pamplona to coincide with the world famous Running of the Bulls Festival (and yes you will get the chance to take part…)
The entry fee includes all of the following:
• Breakfast each day
• Dinner each night
• Fully detailed road books and maps for each day
• Session on a private circuit
• Escorted and marshalled throughout
