The 2014 F1 season is heading toward the finish line. And it looks like next year is shaping up into a year of big changes. At the time of writing Vettel looks like to be heading to Ferrari; Alonso may be taking a year off but he is definitely leaving Ferrari; Button might be without a drive; Verstappen will become the youngest ever F1 driver at just 17; Honda are back providing engines to McLaren and Mexico joins the F1 schedule. However, can’t the BBC follow suit? I have done straw pole of a bunch of people in the office and friends and everyone feels that Eddie Jordon should head off to retirement and concentrate on his ‘Eddie & the Rockers’ rock band. ‘Irritating’, ‘annoying’, ‘boring’, ‘egotistical’ were the more positive comments received from ‘poll’. As for a replacement – do we need anyone? If we do then Ross Brawn is free at the moment or bring back Gary Anderson. At least they both know what they are talking about and their opinions will surely add to the show. Still we can all dream…
