Drive an F1 Monte Carlo

F1 driver for the day

Join the jet-set on this exclusive Formula 1 action tour in the internationally renowned playground of the Cote d’Azur in southern France.. Experience the thrill of driving French Formula 3 Opel-Lotus race cars on track before stepping up to the ultimate driving machine – a genuine Formula 1 World Championship Grand Prix car – with no rev or speed limits. The fast pace then continues with an optional sensational ride in a 2-seater F1.  And all you need to drive the F1 is a full driving license and be at least 18 years old.

Based at the facility originally used by the host team when competing in the F1 World championship, you will be driving on their private test circuit with a combination of fast straights, sweeping bends and hairpins.   The track is also used by F1 teams for testing prior to the Monaco Classic F1 Grand Prix. In the morning you will be driving Lotus-Opel single seaters.  With over 400 BHP per tonne the F3’s are faster than just about any road car and a fantastic experience in their own right. You will have 2 sessions on track of 20 minutes per session to refine your technique and build your speed. Between each session there is a one-to-one debrief with your instructor.

In the afternoon it’s time for the F1. The cars have 650 BHP, weigh less than half a Mini and are not restricted in any way. The performance can be conservatively described as astounding with 0-120mph coming up in less than 5 seconds and full carbon brakes that wipe off speed at a quite incredible rate. These are all genuine F1s from manufacturers including Prost and Arrows; have been raced in the Formula 1 World Championship and are identically equipped with racing slicks, carbon brakes and the same Cosworth engine that has won over 175 Grand Prix.  There is a choice of classic manual gearstick cars or current generation paddle shift. They are, as the saying goes, fairly serious bits of kit and there is no de-tuned engine, no artificial rev limits and of course you have the whole circuit to yourself when you drive these awesome machines.

You can choose our ‘hotel package’ which includes hotel accommodation and a hire car for the duration of the tour or the ‘drive only’ option where you arrange your own transport and hotel  and we just sort the F1 driving for you.
