Lamborghini delivers first of 40 Centenarios

The first example of Lamborghini’s latest limited edition supercar, the Aventador-based Centenario, has been delivered to its owner, a collector from the United Arab Emirates. He’s gone with a coupe but Lamborghini has also shown a Centenario Roadster.

Photos taken during the delivery were posted by Czech website Autoforum and reveal that the first car features a combination of black and orange hues. Orange is dominant on the body while black is reserved for the roof and aero elements.

Mercedes evaluating radical T-wing on 2017 F1 car

Mercedes says it is undecided about adopting a full shark fin on the engine cover of its 2017 Formula 1 car, after trialling a radical, raised T-wing at Silverstone on Thursday.

The Brackley-based outfit caused a stir at the launch of its W08 when its new challenger was fitted with a high T-wing in front of the rear wing for its afternoon running with new recruit Valtteri Bottas.

Remember How Weird The Audi R8 Looked When It Came Out?

The Audi R8 is now a stable member of the not-quite-supercars club, so it’s heard to really remember just how bizarre it looked when it went on sale a decade ago.

The Ford GT Competition Series Dumps The Weight To Terrify Every 911 GT3 RS Owner

The new Ford GT, America’s most anticipated new supercar, has just become a contender in the lightweight super-exclusive market that has, until now, been dominated by the likes of the Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini. And from the looks of things, the competition has a lot to be afraid of.

McLaren new Super Series testing vid | PistonHeads

Can there really be anything left to say about the new McLaren Super Series after these piecemeal press releases? There is actually, even if by the time the covers come off on the March 7 press day you’ll be forgiven for feeling a sense of Super Series fatigue.

Supercharged Lamborghini Huracan

O.CT Tuning took a Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 and made it more powerful than the new Aventador S. O.CT Tuning’s supercharger kit takes the naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 to a whopping 805 PS (794 HP) and 810 Nm (597 lb-ft) of torque.

This is quite a step up from the 195 PS (192 HP) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque in the stock supercar. This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.7 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.1 seconds. By comparison, the LP610-4 Spyder needs 3.4sec and 10.2sec, respectively. Top speed is said to go above 325 km/h (202 mph).

Mazda MX-5 vs. Fiat 124 Spider: PH Video | PistonHeads

The Mazda MX-5 won’t need a whole lot of introduction here of course, the fourth-generation ND model now well established and continuing to tread its righteous path of low weight, zingy naturally-aspirated power delivery and … let’s face it, a certain evangelical zeal among its fans. Among whom we’ll include Dan.
Matt, let’s say, has yet to see the light. For him and people of the same mindset could something based on the MX-5 and with things we can agree are good – rear-wheel drive mainly – but a totally different image, powertrain and heritage convince him that cutesy roadsters are a good thing?

New WRC cars ‘too fast’ says FIA | PistonHeads

Remember how much we were looking forward to the new, faster and more wild looking WRC cars and the promise of a return to Group B style pace? Looks like it could be a case of ‘careful what you wish for’ in the case of the latter, the FIA cancelling the second running of the Kron stage on safety grounds in an ominous echo of the safety concerns that killed off that same Group B era. At least in that instance we got a four seasons of iconic action to enjoy – in the case of the new WRC cars it’s lasted just a couple of rallies!

Bentley Continental Supersports: Review

Thanks in no small part to a certain off-roader, Bentley is doing rather well at the moment. Indeed European sales were up 56 per cent in 2016, with the UK remaining Bentley’s third biggest market. And, well, the customers seemingly can’t get enough of what the current range offers. Not only have buyers been clamouring for another Supersports since 2009, one of the first Bentaygas was painted two colours and the Mulliner bespoke department is busy. The point is simple: this may not be traditional Bentley, and there may be some people who don’t especially like it, but it’s proving far too popular to ignore.
