Nico Rosberg is the 2016 Formula 1 world champion, but does he deserve it?

He’s won nine of the 21 races in 2016, beating Lewis Hamilton by five points.

The Briton had mechanical issues to contend with, most notably in Malaysia when an engine failure almost certainly cost him victory and swung the balance in Rosberg’s favour.

So did Rosberg deserve to win the title? Or was it more down to Hamilton’s mechanical misfortunes? We take in the views of the world of F1 and look at some of the stats that may, or may not, help yo

Felipe Massa: Why does Formula 1 love retiring Brazilian driver?

Felipe Massa no doubt allowed himself to daydream about how his final Brazilian Grand Prix would play out.

Would he score points? Would he make the podium? Would he – whisper it – go out and win the thing?

Whatever was swirling in his mind before the race in his home city of Sao Paulo, the very last thing he would have wanted was a retirement – yet that is exactly what he got.

This is what a Jaguar I-Pace RS would look like

Last week, the Los Angeles motor show was somewhat stolen by the Jaguar I-Pace. It’s a 394bhp all-electric SUV to take the fight to the Tesla Model X, but it does so with arguably much sharper looks, more heritage, and perhaps a better idea of what ‘luxury’ is.

We like it. Lots of you lot do, too. But what might excite us even more is an even faster one. Enter the I-Pace RS, the concept car given the full XFR-S design treatment in an unofficial render by X-Tomi Design.

Tesla’s Self-Driving Systems See The World As A Giant Glow-Stick Party

It must be fun to be a self-driving Tesla. Objects are in bright colors, and the world is just a big, blacklight glow-stick party. At least, that’s what it looks like to mere mortal eyes.

Of course, there’s a lot more going on here than just nice colors. The description on this video indicates that Tesla’s fully autonomous system is in control, not its semi-autonomous assistance system that is currently on customer cars. The semi-autonomous version of Tesla’s Autopilot recently had a software update that transitioned its primary sensors from cameras to radar, which is something Tesla CEO Elon Musk wanted to do since late 2015. This video evidently shows a camera view.

Macau TCR: Monteiro wins as Comini snatches title from Nash

Tiago Monteiro took victory in a chaotic Macau Guia race, as James Nash lost the TCR International title at the last gasp to Stefano Comini.

WestCoast Racing Honda driver Monteiro triumphed at the end of two hours in which just four complete laps of racing were completed across the two races.

Comini won the first race from the sister WRT-run Leopard Racing Volkswagen Golf of Jean-Karl Vernay, but with only five laps in the books the race only counted for half points.
